Freerangers in the SA finals of the Australian Web Awards

The South Australian Finals of the Australian Web Awards were held at the Kings Hotel last Wednesday night. We’re proud to say that two of our projects ‘Wastelander Panda’ and ‘Stereopublic’ were selected as two of only four South Australian sites to go on and compete for national awards in Sydney.

Wastelander Panda won in the hotly contested Commercial category. Through an interactive map the site showcases the post-apocalyptic world of the Wasteland and the human-panda hybrid Arcayus on his quest to avenge the death of his brother. Created by Adelaide’s Epic Films, the Wastelander Panda short films caused an international stir in crowd funding and social media circles.

Stereopublic is a project seeking to help people find solitude and peace in the busy urban environment. Directed by Adelaide artist Jason Sweeney, it’s an app, a website and an ambient music project. After launching at the Adelaide Festival in 2013, Stereopublic has now spread to over 30 cities worldwide and shows no sign of stopping.

The two sites will be competing in the national finals in Sydney later this month.
