Kumuwuki / Big Wave

Kumuwuki / Big Wave was 2012’s Regional Arts Australia conference, held in Goolwa on SA’s Fleurieu Peninsula. The RAA conference is the biggest arts event outside the main state festivals, occurring biennially under the auspices of a state’s peak regional arts body – in this case, Country Arts SA.

The project comprised a public website, delegate registration and networking system, session booking system, lanyard creation tool and smart phone apps for delegates and for checking-in at the venues. Freerange Future helped Country Arts SA define the vision and scope of the project and created everything in-house using our custom Gluttonberg CMS and its Events suite.

We created a self-contained technological ecosystem for the event, with the website, apps and event administration tools running out of a common Gluttonberg back-end. This resulted in an solution that was fully tailored to the event and provided a seamless experience from registration to session.

  • We came to Freerange with an idea of wanting an easy registration system, an easy to navigate website, and the elusive goal of a paperless conference. Freerange came up with solutions to all of those and surpassed our expectations.
